A little styling post from my time spent on the farm. My aunt and uncle own a farm property in Georgetown so I grew up visiting and hanging with the animals (there are no more animals now, sad face) climbing the barrels of hay, exploring the barn and running around in the field. One of my earliest memories was when I was about 6 years old and my sister and I fell in love we stray kittens we found on the farm and we tried to sneak them into the car and take them home. My dad heard the kittens by the time we made it to the end of the driveway and put them back into the field to be with their mama. We were heartbroken! It was nice to get away from the city a bit and made me crave a farm life with a little garden, a hammock and some animals to hang out with, maybe one day, just maybe...

I think my very favourite thing to do is explore the outdoors. No matter where you are you can always find something cool/new/weird/beautiful and I can spend hours strolling the streets and looking at old houses and in this case cabins and be curious about the inhabitants. My family has had a cottage in Haliburton, Ontario for oh maybe 10 years now. And even though I have spent so much time there I still find new places to explore. I ventured up a hill and through the forest right across from our cottage and found a charming cabin hidden away in the woods. Quietly walking up the path I surveyed the area and concluded that no one was home. Surely they wouldn't mind a friendly guest exploring their cute getaway, admiring from the outside, careful not to disturb the surroundings. And then I found the most charming outhouse I ever did see with a crescent moon carved on the door, my favourite symbol. It's as if this was here waiting for me to find it all along, all these years. I set up my camera and lost track of time, the woods were still, the sun exposing the beauty of the area, it was meditative, it was sweet solitude. Then a welcome interruption from my boyfriend, I didn't realize I was gone for so long, natures a wonderful remedy for stagnancy. We went kayaking, ate the most delicious food (vegan butternut squash for me please!) and ended the night with a bonfire and star gazing on the dock. It's funny when life brings you moments you always wanted and when they come you realize that life can be so happy and easy when you let the universe worry about the details and do it's thing, it's always planning something more amazing and better for you anyways. Less making plans and more living in moments.

Seizing those beautiful spring and upcoming summer moments is so essential. I love living in the impromptu, finding magic in all moments and saying yes to experiences. After listening to a podcast from the amazing Kris Carr (look her up, her story and mission is amazing!) on saying yes to life, I received a text from my dear friend Genevieve and asked, "what are you doing right now? get ready and lets go take photos in the park." It was the most beautiful sunny afternoon and you have to soak up every moment and enjoy the outdoors and surround yourself in nature. We ventured to high park and stalked the grounds to find all the apple blossom trees. Bonding over summer camping plans, California dreaming, our obsession with coffee and lemon sorbet. This is what summer is all about for me, living in moments, last minute explorations, best friends and soulful chats.
Genevieve is wearing Mendocino and I am wearing vintage from Mama Loves You Vintage and Brixton.

When you should be cleaning your apartment but the sunset from your kitchen inspires a style post. I love this lace white bodysuit by Jordan de Ruiter. You can wear it with so many things and its perfect for this years festival wears. Local loves and vintage pieces are my favourite things to wear. You know they are made with care, supports the artist directly, unique and helps our mother earth. Conscious fashion is my new mandate, I want a connection to the pieces I own and feel great about what I wear!
